TRUMPF TruLaser 5030 fiber laser was built in 2015 in Germany by
Trumpf GmbH + Co. KG. The machine, which is designed for precision
machining of sheet metal made of among others structural steel, copper
and aluminium, is characterised by the use of state-of-the-art
technical solutions that significantly affect the cutting quality and
expand the machine’s machining capabilities.
Laser cutting is performed by means of a stable fibre-optic beam with
a maximum power of 5 kW, which is flexibly guided from the resonator
to the cutting head with an adaptive lens system. This system ensures
optimum beam geometry for different sheet thicknesses and materials,
resulting in the highest cutting quality, at maximum feed rates. In
turn, the laser power is regulated analogously to the feed rate on the
intuitive SIEMENS SINUMERIK 840D SL CNC control. The workshop
programming integrated into the control system allows advanced
machining programmes to be created directly from existing geometry
data in just 5 steps.
The entire machining process is fully automatic, thanks to the use of
an automatic pallet exchange system. This system allows workpieces to
be loaded and unloaded simultaneously during the cutting process, thus
increasing production efficiency and significantly reducing machine
downtime. On the side of the machine, on the other hand, there is a
wide belt conveyor that transfers the cut workpieces to an easily
accessible container. In addition, the TruLaser 5030 laser cutting
machine is equipped with special systems that enable processing of
waste material. Over its lifetime, the TRUMPF TruLaser 5030 L56 fibre
laser has worked for a total of 54285 hours.
