RAFAMET KCI 320/400N CNC vertical turret lathe manufactured in 2011 in
Poland, can perform complex production programmes on large-size
workpieces, thanks to one turning head and three milling heads set at
different angles. The machine, with its compact frame structure made
of high-quality grey cast iron, is distinguished by its high geometric
stability, high rigidity and excellent vibration damping.
The CNC vertical turret lathe KCI 320/400N performs precision turning,
milling, drilling and boring of cylindrical, conical and curved
surfaces with the aid of the applied heads. One of them is a special
milling head (offset), used to perform drilling and milling operations
with the position of the tool axis offset from the spindle axis in a
direction parallel to the slide travel plane. On the other hand, the
turning head allows to mount CAPTO turning tools in horizontal and
vertical sockets and ensures coolant supply to/through the cutting
tool.
The entire working area of the RAFAMET CNC lathe has been fully
illuminated and enclosed with guards to ensure safety of use. Inside
it there is a large cast-iron table with a 3200 mm diameter rolling
bearing and a TV camera system connected to the monitors, allowing for
tracking the progress of the production process. All process
parameters are programmed in an easy-to-use SIEMENS SINUMERIK 840D
SOLUTION LINE CNC controller with touchscreen.
Tools stored in the 5-position (right) and 3-position (left) tool
magazine of the lathe are measured and calibrated both before and
after machining by a RENISHAW measuring sensor mounted under the
support beam. The sensor, which takes into account the tool’s
mounting accuracy in the chuck and the manufacturing tolerance of the
cutting inserts, is designed to significantly improve machining
accuracy, as well as determining tool wear, determining the remaining
time of use and updating tool dimensions.
