ELMETHERM 27 x 4.4 m furnace for plastic pipes was manufactured in
1997 in France. The furnace is used in the process of heating and
shaping single-layer plastic pipes with a maximum wall thickness of 3
mm and a diameter from 8 mm to 35 mm. The workpieces are preheated in
the machine’s heating pipes and then vulcanised and shaped at
168°C. At the very end, the plastic pipes are moved to a special
cooling tunnel, where they are cooled with air at 42.8°C.
Automated heat treatment of large quantities of workpieces is possible
due to the use of conveyors in the machine that transport the
workpieces between the different stages of the process. All functions,
such as switching on heating or cooling, are controlled via the
SCHNEIDER MAGELIS HMI touch panel. The gas furnace for moulding PA
plastic pipes weighs approximately 35000 kg.
