Chilworth JCI 164 High Voltage Adapter
General description
The JCI 146 is a voltmeter adapter component designed for integration
into wider experimental systems.
In combination with our JCI 140, the system enables the measurement of
live conductors with voltages up to ± 60 kV DC by direct connection
with an accuracy of ± 2% (nominal) with minimal load effects on the
device under test.
The JCI 146's high input impedance and low capacitance are suitable
for more accurate DC voltage measurements.
Other traditional techniques for directly measuring high voltages
(e.g., high-voltage meters, capacitive and resistive divider networks,
etc.) often provide inaccurate results due to load effects caused by
the measurement setup.
This device can be used to cross-check the calibration and accuracy of
high-voltage sources by power utilities, calibration test houses and
cable manufacturers, to name just a few areas of application.
