EQUIPMENT FOR THE RECOVERY OF MODIFIED BITUMEN MEMBRANES
The system is designed to recover production scrap material after
working on bitumen membranes, generating a new product that does not
have a specific name. This product contains, in varying amounts, all
the components of the membranes, from the reinforcement to the various
finishing materials.
The primary objective of the equipment is to recover 100% of the waste
and reuse it as a component in the production process.
A key distinction must be made between waste that has accumulated over
the years and daily-produced waste. Accumulated waste has likely lost
most of its original physical-chemical characteristics, and the method
used to treat it will be explained later.
The main priority is to close the loop” by reinserting all daily
waste into the production process. The best way to utilize the bitumen
characteristics is to reuse it in the same mix from which it
originated, and in the same proportion.
To achieve this, the process U5158834 includes a packing phase where
the waste is automatically packed into PE bags, placed on pallets,
stored in the warehouse, and treated like any other component in a
recipe.”
The equipment operates continuously, handling an average of about 500
Kg/h. The process is fully automated and requires minimal operator
intervention, only to pick up the finished pallet and load the rolls
for treatment.
